The calculation of personal emissions by Personal CO2 considers spending habits of water , energy, fuels ( transport , travel ), goods and services consumption ( expenditure ) and waste generation during one year . For the calculation are considered the main greenhouse gases , such as CO2 (carbon dioxide ) , CH4 (methane ) and N2O ( nitrous oxide ) and the final result is displayed in CO2 equivalent , ie , all gases are brought to the same base (CO2).

Practices:

• At the end of each 12 month period (counted from your first calculation ) , the Personal CO2 invites you to respond again the calculator in order to ascertain whether there was a change in your consumption habits with a view to a lifestyle of low carbon. If there is no answer to the invitation of recalculation, Personal CO2 assumes that your lifestyle remains the same. Your account will be debited by the same emissions amount from the first calculation, like a current account.
